This antique sepia photograph - taken during the early 1900's - was brought into us for framing by a customer who wanted to protect and display this treasured piece of family history.
Given the age of the photograph - and it beautiful brown tones - the customer chose a traditional style moulding for the frame which had a walnut stain and gold inner edging.
We cut two window mounts from Conservation-level mountboard: the top one in a pale cream; and the one placed beneath in a mid grey colour, which creates just the right level of definition between the pale cream mount and the portrait.
Conservation glass provides 99% UV filter to prevent the photograph from fading, and a small gold curved-corner nameplate detailing the soldier's name and regiment, pinned to the front of the frame, adds the perfect finishing touch.
Our Framers have been framing precious antique photographs since 2006, so you can rest assured that we treat every single one with the utmost care and respect, framing it to whichever Fine Art Trade Guild level of service you require.
