Operations and Sales Support Person

We are a small family-run business - with 16 members of staff - based in Chesterfield.

Almost all of our staff have been with us for several years, and we are a team that has to work closely together so our culture is very friendly and supportive.

At the moment we are looking for somebody flexible enough to work on both the production and the sales side of our mail order frames:

  • the Operational Support will involve operating a computerised mountboard cutting machine as well as packaging our finished frames;
  • the Sales Support will involve serving customers over the phone, via email and face to face.

Working in our Sales team can be very challenging, so we need somebody who is comfortable multi-tasking when things get busy – which they do! – and who is pro-active when it comes to problem solving. They also need a solid grasp of maths, as well as a desire to learn about picture framing. The reason for this is that we sell bespoke products so, unlike off-the-shelf products, every order is different and will require them to calculate the dimensions of materials, such as picture frame moulding, mountboard and glazing, as well price up each job before taking payment.

The successful candidate also needs to have great customer facing qualities: approachable and helpful, with excellent English skills.

We can’t offer a huge salary but there are other benefits, such as a relaxed and fun (if busy) working atmosphere, a free telephone counselling service for you and your family, and discounts on the products we sell.

If you’re interested in any of our current vacancies, please send a copy of your CV along with a covering letter to rebecca@vallaton.co.uk, explaining why you think you’d be a good fit for our Company.
