Longboat by Duncan Pass

Local artist, Duncan Pass's interest in printmaking is primarily relief printing and woodcut which don't require any chemicals, meaning the process is safe and non-toxic and there's no poisonous waste to dispose of, or any need for specialist safety equipment. He employs drypoint methods as well as using chisels and drills.

This print depicts a longship (from the Old Norse langskip) - a long slender boat propelled by oars, and later also by sail, intended for speed, and with the ability to carry a large crew of warriors - forming part of Duncan's collection of artwork inspired by the Viking Age.
