This print was brought to us for framing by a couple who had just returned from a trip to New York’s famous Birdland jazz club.
The list of performers that have played at this iconic club - dubbed the "the jazz corner of the world" - over the years reads like a who's who of jazz greats, and this print is based on a hand-drawn poster from around 1950, which in turn was based on artwork from the menus, handbills, advertisements, and other ephemera from that time.
It's also a great example - in framing terms - of when "less is more" as all this artwork needed was a simple slim black frame and glass; no window mount necessary.
Our customer chose one with a contemporary profile, and just the right width so it wasn't "too heavy" for the picture.
Anti reflective glass to finish gave the display unparalleled clarity - reducing reflections to less than 1% - and will help to protect it from fading over time - filtering out 70% of UV rays.
