This reproduction of Gustav Klimt's Beech Forrest was brought to us for framing in 2017.
The picture was painted in acrylics on canvas so before we could frame it we stretched it around wooden stretcher bars to keep it taut.
We chose a silver painted pine moulding which matched the bark of the trees very well - 612348000 - but it needed something in between it and the artwork to create definition. With a watercolour (which would require glass) a mount would serve this purpose but for an oil or acrylic (which don't tend to be glazed) another moulding is used. In this instance we used a narrow 'slip moulding' in white which creates a stark contrast to the colours either side, and produces a neat, sharp edge to the canvas.
If you'd like a double frame for your acrylic artwork visit us at our Showroom in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peal District for a no obligation appointment.
