This picture, brought into us for framing in 2017, was painted in acrylics on canvas so, before we could frame it, we stretched it around wooden stretcher bars to keep it taut.
Our customer chose a contemporary moulding with a black satin finish and a subtle silver line on both the inner and outer edge from our Gramercy collection - 346790.
He also decided to add a narrow white 'slip moulding' which creates 'steps' down into the picture, helping to guide the eye towards the focus of the display.
We didn't glaze the artwork - as is often the case with oils and acrylics - as the thick and textured paint is durable and can be left exposed to the air (unlike watercolors and pastels which need protecting from damage).
If you'd like a frame with a slip for your acrylic artwork visit us at our Showroom in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peal District for a no obligation appointment.
