Quite often we get customers bringing us artwork and objects to frame which they’ve collected on their travels overseas, and these kalimbas from Zambia are a great example from 2024.
Left unglazed - as requested by our customer – these handheld musical instruments are also known as ‘thumb pianos’, and are played by plucking the staggered metal tines with your thumbs and forefingers.
We framed them using a natural-looking wooden moulding against a beaujolais red undermount to complement the patterns painted on them.
If you have an idea for a framing project call our friendly Sales team on 01246 554338 or email sales@bramptonframing.com to book a no obligation appointment.
