Framed Judge's Gavel and Block

Here’s a vintage wooden judge’s gavel & block from France brought to us for framing in 2024.

Our customer wanted it framed for her daughter-in-law, with a gold plaque, as a present for passing the New York Bar exam and becoming licensed to practise law.

For the frame, we chose a deep wooden box moulding from our Coastal Woods collection with a black stain which - by allowing the grain of the wood to show through - complements the two wooden objects inside.

After covering the inner edges of the frame with bespoke spacers cut from black mountbaord, we chose a Conservation-level window mount and undermount in warm neutral colours from our range of linen-covered mountboard.

Finally, to glaze the frame we used specialist glass to filter 70% of UV rays and reduce reflections to less than 1%.

The result is a wonderful gift - thoughtful and unique.
