We reframed this beautiful watercolour, painted by English artist Henry John Sylvester Stannard, called Shepherd with Flock in 2024.
The frame was broken, and as you can see from the photos, the window mount also needed replacing.
So we cut a new window mount from a 3mm thick pale beige Conservation-level mountboard - recommended by the Fine Art Trade Guild for Level 2 framing - which you can find out more about by clicking here.
We then chose a traditional-looking moulding with a scoop profile, painted in soft gold - 253406000 - for the frame.
We finished by glazing the artwork with Conservation-level glass which contains 99% UV filter to prevent the watercolour fading over time.
Reframing a painting really can give it a new lease of life. If you have a much-loved painting which needs a 'refresh' visit our Showroom in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District for a no obligation quote.
