Our customer wanted a period-style frame for this original watercolour - Horses And Carts Before Henley Bridge - painted by Henry Charles Fox.
Together we chose this 2.25" Victorian 'closed corner' frame in a light antique gold colour, with a light grey wash and ornamentation at the corners.
H.C. Fox originals are very collectible, so we mounted it using Conservation-level mountboard and undermount, and glazed it using Tru Vue Conservation UV Filter Glass, which contains 99% UV filter, to protect it from fading.
We were all very pleased with the result; the subtle elegance of the frame is a perfect match for the pale tones used in the painting. It does the artwork justice without drawing the viewer's attention away from the picture.
