This beautiful and intricate antique sampler, embroidered by a lady called Sophia Webb in 1803, was brought to us for framing by one of her descendants.
With it being a precious family heirloom, passed down though generations of her family, our customer wanted it to be framed - quite rightly - with museum-grade materials.
We frame to the standards set by the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) – of which we are proud members – meaning everything is reversible so that, should you wish to, you can remove your cross stitch from its frame, undamaged, at any point in the future.
Together with our customer, we chose a picture frame moulding from our Canaletto collection - 415303 - in a gold/pewter colour, with double mounts from our Timecare Cottoncore range of boards which fully comply with FATG Museum Level (a.k.a. Level 1).
The display was finished with museum quality specialist glass which filters 99% of UV and reduces reflections to less than 1%.
If you have an antique piece of fabric, and need a museum-standard framing service to protect and display it, call us on 01246 554338 or email us at sales@bramptonframing.com for a no obligation quote.
