This impressionist-style still life was painted by a lady who brought it to us in 2026 to have it float framed.
As the canvas had already been stretched around stretcher bars, we simply had to decide on a picture frame moulding.
Rather than a conventional moulding which has a rebate that overlaps the edges of a picture, our customer preferred the idea of a modern style float frame, which gives you full visibility.
In addition, the shadow gap created from positioning the artwork 1cm away from the four inner edges of the frame gives the picture an added depth which helps to draw the eye towards it.
This particular moulding is from our FSCĀ® accredited Kensington collection, made from pine and finished in a pewter foil which complements the colours of the acrylic paints very well.
