This limited edition canvas print by Scotland-based cityscape painter and fine artist, Lesley-Anne Derks, was brought to us for framing in 2018.
Entitled Bursting Into Life, the print depicts London's skyline at night, and our customer wanted a frame that was dark, dramatic and contemporary to fit with the subject matter.
He chose this chunky black painted float frame, and - once we'd stretched the canvas around stretcher bars - we fitted the artwork flush with the front of the frame, and with a small shadow gap around the canvas.
Sometimes we're asked to position a canvas flush with the front, other times, set back in the frame. Also, some customers choose to have a shadow gap while others prefer to have their canvas placed right up to the inner edges of the frame i.e. without a shadow gap. It's simply down to personal preference.
