This original signed artwork by French painter Charles-Édouard de Beaumont - A Street Girl and a Gentleman - was bought at auction, and framed in 2025, ready for resale in our Online Art Gallery.
de Beaumont was a French painter, draughtsman and lithographer who illustrated the pages of fashionable image journals of the late nineteenth century with satirical images of gender relations.
The artwork was already float mounted on a coffee colour undermount so we placed a 3mm Conservation-level solidcore window mount in Thatch over the top to add definition and mirror the colours used in the picture.
We framed it using a picture frame moulding from our Alaska collection which features a classic ‘spoon’ profile. Its delicate design engraved around the edge of the frame complements the drawing style very well, and UV99 Conservation glass will provide the maximum UV protection for the artwork, thereby meeting the conservation standards of the Fine Art Trade Guild, of which are proud members.
