These WWI photos and medals - originally belonging to Richard James Whalley - were brought to us for framing in 2024 by his great grandson who had just inherited them.
For this display, we paired a dark green window mount with a gold picture frame moulding; a combination of colours which work well with many military displays. The moulding - which has a classic scoop profile - gives a very stylish and refined look, and comes from our appropriately-named Elegante collection.
Once we'd added a gold colour nameplate with some details, it was ready to glaze.
In order to prevent fading to the photographs and the ribbons, our customer chose Museum-level glass, which not only provides the maximum UV protection (99%) but also offers the best optical performance by reducing reflections to less than 1%.
If you have a collection of WWI or WWII keepsakes, visit us at our Showroom in Derbyshire near the Peak District to see how we could help you display them. Click here to book an appointment for a no obligation quote.
