One of our customers – an avid runner – completed the 45th London Marathon in April 2025 to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, and brought his medal and race bib – along with a few photos – to us for framing later in the year.
Starting with a Pale Stone window mount with three precision-cut windows for the photographs, we float mounted the race bib and medal on top, positioning the items so that the overall design looked balanced. We then cut bespoke spacers out of the same mountboard in order to cover the inner edges of the picture frame moulding.
Framing a 3D object requires moulding deep enough to accommodate its thickness, so that nothing presses against the glass, as this can cause condensation, mould, and other damage.
This particular moulding – from our FSC® accredited Naturale collection - is made from pine, and features a luxurious real wood walnut veneer which perfectly complements the colour of the mount.
What a wonderful way to remember an impressive achievement!
Please get in touch by calling 01246 554338 or emailing sales@bramptonframing.com if you have medals you'd like to have framed.
