These medals - the (Queen’s) Korea Medal (yellow and blue ribbon) and the UN Service Medal for Korea (white and blue ribbon) - were awarded to our customer’s Grandfather in the 1950s.
Together with a photograph of him in uniform - with beret and badge from the Duke of Wellington's Regiment - and a gold colour plaque detailing name, rank and service number, this collection of family keepsakes is now protected and displayed in an Italian-designed frame from our Portici collection.
Made from solid pine, this black painted moulding has a unique finish that evokes traditional wood treatment, and features slim raised edges which add interest but don’t overpower the frame.
A black window mount and a black undermount (for the medals) catch the eye but are nicely balanced out by the definition from the white core of the top mount.
Conservation-level glass completes the display and - with 99% UV filter – will help protect it from fading in the future.
