Map of Sheffield Framed

This map of Sheffield was brought to us to frame in 2024 by a customer who was wanting something timeless but had a strict budget to work to.

We suggested 'close framing' the map i.e. framing without a window mount, in order to keep the size of materials - and therefore the cost - down.

We chose a barefaced wood moulding with a pale stain which, over time, will darken slightly, thereby further enhancing the display.

By keeping costs down with dimensions and the choice of moulding, our customer was then able to upgrade the glass to anti-reflective which not only contains 70% UV filter but also reduces reflections to less than 1%.

For maps especially, specialist glass is well worth the extra cost so that the viewer is more easily able to see the tiniest details.
