These interesting African portraits have been created in 3D, and were brought to us for framing in 2024. Rather than have each one framed separately, our customer wanted to keep them all in the same frame.
So, with one of our computerised mountboard cutters we cut six apertures into snow white mountboard, and carefully mounted each piece. As proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, we frame to the standards they set, one of which is that everything must be reversible with no harsh adhesives used. This is because, over time, they can both damage artwork and also fail, leading to artwork slipping out of place.
Then it was time to create bespoke spacers from black mountboard in order to cover the inner edges of the frame, and also to create enough of a gap so that the glass didn't touch the artwork.
For the frame, our customer chose a fabulous dual-profile moulding with a gold paint and foil textured finish from our Eiffel collection which complements the artwork perfectly.
Now these beautiful keepsakes are both protected and up on display in our customer's home.
