These sweet little handprints and footprints - belonging to our customer's four children - were brought to us in separate frames for us to create one large frame for all of them.
Using our computerised mountboard cutters, we can precision cut all sorts of different shapes out of mountboard. For this project our customer chose oblong shapes with curved corners for the four sets of prints; and oblong shapes with straight corners for the silver nameplates (which we provide, and which also come in gold) beneath each one.
Once we'd cut four apertures into a pale cream mount, we then cut four more apertures - which were slightly smaller - into a second mount. As the second mount was a pale grey colour, it created subtle definition and the 'step' effect tied in well with the profile of the picture frame moulding - 473000127.
Each of the four items were secured in place by positioning them into foamboard. As proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) everything we frame is reversible, meaning that no harsh adhesives are used as these can, over time, damage an item or even fail, causing the item to slip inside the frame. At any point in the future, our customer could, if she wished to, take the items back out of the frame.
