Here’s a colourful piece of fabric art created using procion dyes by a textile artist - and member of a Derbyshire based collective - now hanging on her kitchen wall, looking fabulous. We love seeing our customers’ framed artwork once it’s back home, in situ!
Inspired by the changing seasons of the apple trees in her garden, our customer brought her artwork to us for framing in 2024.
To begin with, we stretched and laced it around a piece of conservation mount board. Some framers use adhesives to simply stick the artwork to an undermount however these can easily stain and damage the fabric. Although more time-consuming, the method we use is completely reversible, in line with the Fine Art Trade Guild standards, of which we are proud members.
For the frame we used an aqua moulding from our fantastic Confetti collection, and since our customer chose not to have a window mount, we made sure to add a spacer around the inside of the frame to prevent the glass from sticking to the fabric over time.
