Our customer brought in this exceptional pastel portrait of their Collie dog for reframing and reglazing, given how special the pet was, as well as how stunningly its likeness had been captured, especially in such a notoriously difficult medium to master.
Previously, the pastel had been hanging in an off-the-shelf frame which, although had offered a certain degree of protection, didn't contain a gutter mount (also known as a pastel tray) or specialist glass to protect it from fading.
Pastel trays are an important feature of professional framing since they catch the loose particles which the artwork may shed over time - despite being sprayed with fixative - and would otherwise fall onto the window mount, ruining both the mount as well as the quality of the display.
We chose an off-white window mount and a pine picture frame moulding with a bronze-gold foil finish from our Andover collection - 277501773 - both of which reflect the dog's beautiful colouring.
We're very pleased to say our customer is delighted with their upgraded frame and its increased level of protection for their beloved pet.
