Still life oil paintings have been popular for centuries, and this modern take on a classic form looks great in a bespoke gold leaf frame.
As with most oil paintings, the customer did not want any glass covering the artwork, so we close framed it using this moulding from the original collection. The reverse profile and gold leaf finish are characteristics of a more traditional frame which complements the subject and bold colours used in this oil painting.
To finish we added an acid free backing board and sealed the back of the frame with professional framing tape. We have several options when it comes to fixings for the back of the frame, but the most popular option is a simple set of D-rings which we used on this frame. For frames which need to be fixed to the wall in a museum for example - we have multiple options for more secure fittings on our DIY pages.
