This antique print with a sketch of Dale Abbey in Derbyshire on was brought into us by an antiques collector who wanted a simple dark frame.
We chose this dark wooden frame which has a thin line of gold/red colour which gives definition to this simple profile.
As the paper it is printed on is not bright white, we chose a black, black-core mount which gives a crisp edge without being brighter than the paper.
The artwork was hinged in place using a conservation framing tape so only a small amount of the paper touches the tape to prevent damage.
This piece was going on display, so we wanted to protect it from sun damage; we chose a 99% UV protection conservation glass which is an essential for old pieces or work.
