Medal framing with Museum Grade Tru Vue Glazing
This impressive set of medals was provided by the customer on a bar, and a stipulation of the framing was that they may wish to wear the medals again in the future, so a user-accessible framing method was needed.
Fortunately, since the medals were securely mounted to the bar, we could use this underlying structure to hold them in place within the frame as well. We cut a dark green mountboard for the background with slot and holes so that the bar could be fixed in securely without looking odd.
The frame consists of a dark brown stained wood with distressed gold inner slip, and the back board is attached using brass turn-buttons so that the customer can remove the back themselves when they wish to access the contents.
We finished this frame off with Tru Vue™ Museum Glass, which provides 99% protection against harmful UV rays whilst also providing stunning clarity and low reflectivity.
