Forging Sigurd's Sword by Duncan Pass

Sigurd is a central figure in the Volsunga saga, and is reputed to have killed the dragon Fafnir with his sword, Gram. This image shows Gram being forged and also explores Viking ironworking, imagining the tools and equipment they might have used.
Duncan Pass

This limited edition, woodcut style engraving on white cartridge paper, produced by hand on a hand built press, using methods which date back to the Middle Ages.

The print shows the sword of Siguard, known as Gram, being made by Viking workers forging the sword.
