The other side of the company which owns Brampton Picture Framing buys and sells Oil Paintings we have framed a huge number of oil paintings and offer you advice and a selection of mouldings to perfectly complete your oil painting.
With oil painting typically there is no need for glass, oil paintings tend to have a varnish applied, if this has not been done we can do this for you, applying either a light coat of matt or gloss varnish as you require.
Oil Painting typically do not require a mount, in place of a mount a second moulding called a slip may be used. A slip act in a similar way to a mount, drawing the eye into the picture.
If you are a painter, we may be able to offer trade discounts if you need paintings framing on a regular basis.

Varnish Oil Paintings
Oil based paintings are not typically framed in a glazed frame. Sometimes, a layer of varnish can be added to the paint to create a protective cover that can be cleaned and replaced with no damage to the original. If required we can apply a light coat of varnish to your painting prior to framing to ensure it is protected
